COVID-19 Policy
We are back!
After almost four months without offering any training courses, we are cautiously happy to be able to run IRATA and SPRAT courses in Ontario again. As of June 15, 2020 our courses are scheduled to go ahead as planned, unless we receive further notice from health officials that it is unsafe to do so.
Please be advised there is still a possibility courses will be cancelled prior to their start if Ontario registers a spike in cases and the planned reopening of the Province is paused again. At that point, registrations can be refunded for 100% of their value or used for training at your earliest convenience.
We are closely monitoring the situation with COVID-19 and will update all registered trainees as the government and health officials' advisories change.
All trainees shall, at a minimum:
· Perform the Province of Ontario self-assessment tool: https://covid-19.ontario.ca/self-assessment/
· Read the COVID-19 Safety print materials attached and signing a waiver attesting to the controls presented on first day of the course.
In the meantime, we have implemented a series of safety protocols in order to offer rope access training safely.
· In order to maintain social distancing, our courses will be limited to a maximum of eight trainees; the classroom has been refitted in order for trainees to seat 2 meters apart. We have gridded the training area to maximize social distancing efforts.
· All trainees will be issued a personal small bottle of hand sanitizer, a personal pen, a mask if needed and a training manual. Personal rope access and safety equipment will not be shared with anyone else.
· Since we have two washrooms available, half the trainees will use one washroom and the other half the other. Sanitizing stations will be available in each washroom and trainees encouraged to disinfect surfaces before and after using them. Washroom will be cleaned twice a day.
· Trainees will sign a waiver of responsibility to not attend unnecessary events and public places during the week of training to minimize risk of contamination. Daily sign in that trainees are not presenting symptoms, have not left the country in 14 days or been in contact with anyone diagnosed with COVID-19 or presenting symptoms thereof. The waiver can be downloaded here.
· Trainees will be reminded and encouraged to control transmission through good habits: coughing into elbow ditch, not touching one’s face, cleaning hands regularly, wearing masks, disinfect surfaces.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch through training@ramaccess.ca and, hopefully, see you soon for your courses.
